Smoke Free England

1 July 2007

The Health Act 2006 came into force in summer 2007. It means that virtually all workplaces need to be smoke free (there are exceptions for the care sector and hotels). Smoking is not allowed in any enclosed, indoor area (no smoking rooms) or works' vehicles. No smoking signs need to be displayed at all public entrances for all premises and displayed in relevant vehicles, such as work vans and taxis.
